TRAIN
OF TERROR: The experience consists of a
dark journey through four passenger cars of the LM & M Railroad.
Spider webs serve as the motif for the first car, while the second houses
a nurse holding a demon baby, a doctor armed with some sort of electric
saw, heads suspended from above, body bags and parts. Another car
is decorated with balloons, and devoted to a clown theme. Scary music
accompanies the adventure, and a few monsters reach out from beneath the
seats, gently brushing up against your legs as you pass through.
The final car exits onto a short trail highlighted by a cemetery, and second
encounters with many of the same monsters that inhabit the Train of Terror.
Analysis:
It’s a novel idea, but needs to be tremendously expanded
upon to even warrant consideration. Coming from a rail fan with a
high admiration for trains, it pains me to say I’m flabbergasted that someone
would ask $12 for such an effortless, 6 minute exhibition – a gesture that’s
beyond bad for the entire industry, and tarnishes the reputation of quality
haunts. The actors are all kids, the most memorable of which is the
nurse, and she’s not scary. Each car is dedicated to a unique theme,
but the experience is just way too short, and the cemetery is mostly uneventful.
Props consist of spider webs, body parts, and little more. Touring
the vintage passenger cars offers the only value.
