| WALK OF TERROR: This
first year haunt finds you out walking through the dark, torch lit woods
surrounding The Landings Complex, in Hamilton, OH. Scary Midnight
Syndicate music sets the stage for a vast array of masked monsters
to spring forth from their secluded hiding places along the trail.
Highlights of the hilly terrain include a bungee surprise from out of the
trees, scarecrows leaving their perches to unleash attacks, a quad chase,
and ground that gives way beneath your very feet, before climaxing with
a relentless, multiple chainsaw chase-out of maybe your last walk ever
- The Walk of Terror.
Analysis:
LENGTH - 8, 15 minutes.
ACTORS - 7, All do their best to promote surprises and
startles, but very little dialogue, and mostly masks. Bungee monster
and chainsaw lunatics are best.
SCARINESS - 7, Darkness is the primary fear factor, accompanied
by traditionally scary music. Quad attack from out of the darkness
is perhaps the most terrifying. Need to improve upon the scenes,
both in quality and quantity in order to score higher.
DESIGN - 6, A nice trail from a length standpoint, great
music, and characters are well hidden in the woods, but just not enough
props to score any higher.
PROPS - 4, Soft ground and bungee attack are most memorable.
Plenty of room for improvement in this department as the haunt continues
to grow.
VALUE - 5½, $10 is a bit overzealous for a first
year haunt, but they do have some unique events taking place, so if you're
nearby and looking for some scares, give it a go.
RATING: 6, Any new undertaking is always
difficult, but the trail is in good hands with experienced workers from
other local haunts, both past and present. If you're in the Hamilton area,
stop by and visit the friendly folks at The Walk of Terror.
It just may turn out to be your last walk ever! |
